Pranay Lal
Pranay Lalis a biochemist, climate change specialist, and natural history writer. Pranay serves on several governmental committees in India, including the Environment Impact Committee at the Delhi Pollution Control Cell, and the Delhi Wetland Authority. He is the author of two acclaimed books on natural history, Indica and Invisble Empire. Pranay frequently contributes editorials to leading Indian newspapers, and frequently speaks at public debates and podcasts. He is the CEO and Chief Scientific Officer of Deep Carbon.

Bharat Dube
Bharat Dube is a graduate of Duke Law School (J.D. ’86) and is an alumnus of the United World College of the Atlantic, and Harvard University (A.B. magna cum laude, ’83).
He is the founder of Strategic IP Information Pte. Ltd. (Singapore), Asia’s leading online brand protection company, now part of Authentix Inc (Dallas, USA).
Bharat was a key member of the litigation and enforcement team of Richemont, the Swiss luxury goods conglomerate, between 1990 and 2010 and headed Richemont’s global IP litigation team for several years. Prior to joining Richemont, Bharat worked with the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), in Geneva. He serves as Executive Chairman at Deep Carbon.

Atul Pahwa
Indian by nationality, Atul has lived across the globe and has called Switzerland home since 2002. He has a degree in economics from Lawrence University, and an MBA from Babson College.
He has held numerous roles in business development, marketing and strategy with an emphasis on intrapreneurship; helping companies create new business ventures from within.
Atul has consulted with companies like Canon, Coca Cola, Hilton, Infosys, Logitech, Motorola Ventures, Panasonic, Philips, Royal Bank of Scotland, Siemens, Suzuki, Syngenta, Tetra Pak, Toyota. He worked with their senior leadership to analyze key business strategies and provide innovative solutions to tough business problems.
He has also consulted on large scale healthcare projects.
In Geneva, he created an eco-system of medical device manufacturers, clinicians, scientists to join hands and build the finest surgical training institute in Europe focused on neuro, general, and orthopedic surgery.
In Lausanne, he headed strategy and partnerships for the world’s largest project on mental health, Synapsy.
In 2018, he co-founded Temenis to create exclusive travel experiences for clients worldwide.
Atul resides in Lutry, on the shores of Lake Geneva with his wife and two children, and leads Deep Carbon’s Advisory Board.

Vandana Singh
Vandana Singh is a former policy advisor to The World Bank and the New Zealand Government. Vandana studied environment and forestry at Oxford University, and also holds degrees in politics and economics. She has, inter alia, worked in the forests of Madhya Pradesh documenting forest-protection practices, and is currently affiliated with the Victoria University of Wellington, New Zealand. Vandana is the Chief Financial Officer of Deep Carbon and also leads operations in the company.

Sonia Dutt Thussu
Sonia Dutt Thussu is a Master of Engineering graduate from the Royal Institute of Technology (KTH) in Stockholm, Sweden and a former principal advisor to C-level execs from renowned businesses across EMEA. She comes with extensive experience in driving digital transformation, operational excellence, and cross-functional collaboration across global markets throughout her career with top enterprises like Oracle Healthcare and Forrester Research Ltd. Amongst her stakeholders, she built a reputation for delivering strong business value and growth, and spearheading large-scale projects that align with organizational goals. Her passion for Evironment, Social and Governance (ESG) issues led her to head sales at the Swiss nonprofit Slavefreetrade, a human rights in the workplace certification provider. As Co-founder of Deep Carbon, she hopes to further her passion to help governments and companies operate more sustainably.
